Years Of Torture In One Hour (Big Lesson)

Ok so why did I walk 4 miles with a 20kg
sandbag at 10pm in the freezing cold (when I
could have just put that fkr down)…

And no it’s not cos I’m stupid (but thanks
for thinking that)…

It’s also NOT cos I’m a masochist (in fact I
do my best to stay away from pain)…

But there are a few different types of pain
aren’t there…

Physical pain (and we avoid that here cos
it’s a warning sign that something’s up)…

‘No pain no gain’ has to be the stupidest
thing I’ve heard…

^^^ And I hear a lot of stupid things…

Anyhoo… why did I carry that fucking
sandbag?…

Seriously dude… this thing was pissing me
right off (but I just HAD to keep carrying
it)…

We’d smashed ourselves to pieces all day but
that didn’t break me…

And it wasn’t the relatively light weight
that riled me (I could have carried it for a
lot longer)…

BUT WHY SHOULD I?…

This thing represented all of my frustrations
that I carry around with me EVERY DAY (and
don’t confront)…

Yep I can move it from one arm to the
other…

Then to my shoulders…

Then hold it in front of my chest…

But that thing just got heavier EVERY damn
time…

And it pissed me off cos it made me realise I
struggle to confront my problems…

Which holds me back (and makes me angry)…

^^^ Big realisation this one my man…

So what does the sandbag represent to you?…

Have you got a bit of a ‘dad podge’ you’d
like to shift?…

Are you on the receiving end of little
comments about your weight from your nearest
and dearest?…

Does your wife keep telling you to do
something about your gut?…

Do your kids laugh when you can’t keep up
with them in the park?…

— All you need to do is put that sandbag down
my friend…

It makes life a damn sight easier (and makes
progress happen much more quickly)…

Ironically you can start by actually picking
up some weights…

^^^ But you can put these ones down whenever
you like…

And they’ll make you stronger, fitter and
faster…

THEY WON’T HOLD YOU BACK…

It’s pretty powerful stuff when you have a
physical representation for what’s holding
you back mentally…

It becomes pretty obvious what you need to do
(cos your body will get tired)…

^^^ As does your mind (but your mind is VERY
good at hiding your struggles from you)…

Especially if you distract it with Fifa,
Facebook, Twitter, Booze, Work…

Have a think about it dood…

What’s the REAL thing that’s stopping you
from stepping up?…

Once you’ve identified it…

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT…

Put that shit down and move forwards…

You’ll find it a shite sight easier when you
make this realisation my good man…
