How I Keep It Up

I was just loading up the bells to go to the
park…

I have to carry them up some stone steps…

Twice a session…

12 times per week…

Then drag them to the park…

I’m THAT determined to get you fitter and
stronger (and it keeps me on me toes too)…

The lady who lives next door was watching me
as I battled on…

Then she asked how long I would be able to
keep this up for…

Bit of a personal questions that (although
maybe she didn’t mean what I thought she
meant)…

Anyhoo…

Presumably she meant that at some point I
wouldn’t be strong enough to carry this on…

Which I think is a funny question…

And is based on the belief of most people…

See most people think you get to a certain
age and then everything becomes difficult…

Your strength goes…

You become less bendy…

You get knackered quickly…

^^^ And they’re right…

This does happen (but it’s all relative)…

See this lady was basing her assumption on
HER strength…

Not mine…

And considering I’ve been working on my
strength and making progress for a long
time…

I feel stronger and fitter at the age of 40
than I did in my 20s…

See it’s possible to reverse this process…

If you give up and decide to just let
everything go south then you’ll soon prove
that science is true and you WILL lose muscle
and get knackered…

BUT

If you decide to do something about it NOW…

You’ll soon see that you can prolong your
life adding good years to it…

See at our age we lose 5% of muscle mass
every 10 years…

–> If we do nothing…

But I have MORE muscle mass than I did 10
years ago…

It’s all about who you compare yourself to…

Do you compare yourself to a 20 year old body
builder…

A knackered old grandad who looks frail…

Or yourself in the past…

Cos let’s face it dude… the only thing that
matters here is that you’re fitter and
stronger than you used to be…
