So I got this comment over on Farcebook this
week…

” You are making sweeping generalisations to
peddle your Society. I use kettle bell and
goblet squats as part of a broader training
plan that includes Olympic lifting dead lift
and hypertrophy. Don’t belittle and distort
the tangible benefits of weight lifting in a
good gym to sell your product. “

Now first off you probably have no idea what
Olympic Lifts are…

And hypertrophy?…

Have I lost you yet?… WAKEY WAKEY…

You see this guy is entitled to his
opinion…

And I agree with him… except for where I’m
allegedly trying to ‘distort tangible
benefits’…

The post he commented on says nothing about
weight lifting…

It merely says that BEING strong is better than
being a ripped poser…

Which it is…

And I actually quite like weight lifting so why
would I belittle it?…

Anyhoo… I have a question…

Can you squat deeper than parallell?…

And I shall stop there (cos you’re glazing
over again)…

This guy obviously does alright in the gym…

He’s comfortable doing what he does and may
even be getting some great results…

Good on him…

But it doesn’t change the fact that you
haven’t…

It doesn’t change the fact that you have no
idea how to hoist a barbell from the ground
and snatch it above your head…

Well guess what my friend…

The kettlebell is a GREAT place to start for
this…

I remember Steve when he first turned up…

He couldn’t squat AT ALL…

Not from the lack of strength

Just cos he’d never done it before…

So how the hell would he nip down the gym for
a quick olympic lifting session on his
lunch?…

I’m not trying to please everyone in the
world here…

And I don’t care what anyone else says (you
may have noticed this)…

What I do care about is you…

You’ve tried to shift weight but it just
doesn’t seem to stay off…

You’ve been down the gym and ‘given it a good
go’…

^^^ But still look (and feel) the same…

So the fitness industry has failed you
right…

Why should you listen to anyone any more…

You might as well just give up and stay the
same forever more…

^^^ But have you done this with the rest of
your life?…

Have you stayed in the same job at the same
level for the last 20 years?…

Have you stayed on your own cos you didn’t
have the balls to ask out that tidy bit of
tackle on a date?…

Have you settled with where you’re at
ever?…

So why would you do it with the one thing
that will keep you moving forwards…

=== YOUR HEALTH ===

Now if you’re already smashing it in the gym
like this bloke clearly is then you obviously
don’t need me…

But if you’re not then consider this a little
push…
