Ever Done This? - Bath Kettlebell Society

Ever Done This?

personal trainer bath

This happens to me EVERY week…

It makes me want to burn this business to the
ground and go back to work for someone
else…

Where I’ll be miserable but safe…

Because safe is comfortable…

And the name given to this sucker…

Is…

The Drift…

We all experience this…

You make a goal…

You start off with all the best intentions…

You’re gonna smash this and NOTHING will stop
you…

Then you have a bad day at work…

Or the kids annoy you…

Or Bath lose in the rugby… again…

Then begins the drift…

Your goal is waaaay away…. so you have
plenty of time to get back on course right…

All you need right now is something to make
you feel better…

So you go back to what you’ve always done…

Because it’s comfortable…

And there you’ll stay until the next time you
decide you’ve had enough…

– Enough of the sweaty pits when it’s only 14
degrees outside…

Yep I used to have that… so you keep your
arms down by your sides… which just makes
it worse…

Then you have a quick sniff while no-one’s
looking…

– Enough of the washing machine shrinking
your clothes again…

When oh when will skinny jeans go out of
fashion (not soon enough if you ask me)…

– Enough of the constant merry-go-round that
you can’t seem to get off of…

Eating crap food cos you just don’t have the
time to cook anything (cos it takes hours
right)…

Drinking every night to keep you calm… (to
take the edge off)…

^^^ Feeling knackered every morning and not
being able to explain why ^^^

You just keep getting dragged back in…

Just like Al Pacino in the Godfather 3

(I know it’s not as good as the rest… but
it couldn’t stop at 2 right)…

Anyhoo…

You’re not the only one my man…

I used to try weights and stuff to build
strength and get a bit thinner…

But I had no idea what I was doing…

So I started running again… (which I
hated)…

But it was easy…

And it gave me an excuse to eat crap food and
drink every night…

Until the pain of remaining the same
outweighed the pain of change…

Change is scary…

It’s daunting…

It’s unknown…

But it’s ESSENTIAL if you want to get
different results…

And on the other side of change you find
power…

The power of knowing you made it through
without going back to what’s comfortable…

Like you tell your kids…

Life’s hard right… and they need to
learn…

They need to know that you got to KEEP
LEARNING and ADAPTING to make sure you do
well…

But more on that tomorrow my man…

So what about YOU…

Are you prepared to practice what you preach
to your kids?…
