Did You Know About This?…

Was ‘avin a couple of beers on the pub on
Sunday…
After a nice walk… (so we’d earned em)…
We got talking to some folk on the next
table…
The daughter is at Uni here and her parents
were visiting…
Turns out the lass has a lovely room with an
en-suite bathroom…
^^ AN EN-SUITE BATHROOM ^^
That’s what students get these days…
When I was at Uni my room looked like a
prison cell and the bathroom was like you
would find at a campsite… (and just as
draughty)…
I had a rug in the middle of my room that I
had to throw out… (cos it had fleas)…
Standard uni issue in those days…
But now…
– NOW –
We see kitchens that look better than mine in
my flat… (how many students actually cook)?
Students have cars, mobile phones,
laptops….
It’s hardly the transition from childhood to
the real world it used to be…
The hardships of having no money and becoming
responsible (ahem)…
And this got me to thinking…
It’s no different from where you’re at right
now…
You’re in a transition from boy to man (in a
sense)…
You have been stumbling through the gym
looking at all the shiny equipment…
Like a kid looks at everything… cos
EVERYTHING’S BRILLIANT…
But then you begin to grow up a bit…
And realise everything’s very normal…
Cos you’ve seen it all before…
– BUT –
You’re a bloke so you don’t want to grow up…
Cos that’s boring…
As is becoming like everyone else…
You have your own identity…
So why do you want to be like everyone else
in the gym?
How about joining the fringes…
Become someone different from all the
others…
Someone special… someone who doesn’t need
to spend hours ‘bulking up’…
Cos lets face it… That’s a lot of effort
and it takes some maintaining…
–> I mean LOT of TIME and EFFORT…
Whereas… if you just become stronger…
You get to rest a lot… Cos that’s when the
body adapts… and change happens…
But what sort of change?…
Well…
You start to use you muscles in the way they
were designed…
So you get to use appropriate weights to
stimulate a response that will ultimately:-
 – Burn fat faster than a George Formby grill
 so that you’re left with an athletic
 physique…
 – Boost your metabolism so you crave the
 right food… while still being able to eat
 some junk every now and then…
 – Make your kids think of you as the cool
 dad… cos you’re stronger than all the
 other dads… you can hoist them onto your
 shoulders no problem…
 – Make sure the missus sits up and takes
 notice (just in case Dwayne ‘The Rock’
 Johnson happens to move in next door… could
 happen in Bath)…
I got a mate who looks a bit like him by the
way (true story)…
Anyhoo…
If you want to be like everyone else then you
can just hit unsubscribe now…
And get back to the gym and blend in…
no-one will even notice you’re there (even
the staff who’re meant to look after you)…
– BUT –
If you want to be different…

strength and fitness that’s actually quite
easy to do (but no-one else seems to know how
to do it)
