It’s that time of year again dude…

The nights have drawn in…

It’s cold…

You drive to work in the dark…

You drive home in the dark…

You go to the gym in the dark…

EVERYONE at work is piling pressure on you to
hit targets by the end of the year…

The stress levels are pretty high right
now…

I can feel it from here dude…

Which is why I thought I’d help you out…

See stress is just an hormonal response to
your thoughts…

You CHOOSE to be stressed…

I know this cos I used to be a right angry
bastard…

The slightest thing would set me off…

I actually used to bang my head on the desk
at work when I got overwhelmed because I
thought I was gonna explode…

^^^ What a douchenozzle…

Anyhoo…

You can choose to be stressed…

Or you can use the energy you waste on
overthinking things to fuel your fire (sounds
hippy but stick with me)…

I remember learning at school that regular
breaks make you more productive…

You learn more and are able to handle
situations better…

^^^ But that all seems to have been forgotten
over the last 20 years or so…

People wear stress as a badge of honour to
show how successful they are…

If you have a heart attack in your 40s you
must be doing something right (how the fk
does that work)…

Look around you dude…

EVERYONE’S BUSY…

No one has time to look after themselves any
more…

They’re too busy comparing themselves to
their so-called ‘friends’ on Farcebook…

Who’re all doing better than you right? (or
so it seems in their online world)…

And when your energy levels are low you
handle situations badly…

Based on emotion rather than logic…

So you act like a big kid…

Like I’m doing RIGHT NOW sitting opposite a
couple of loudmouths in Society Cafe…

Thing is though I can get stressed about it
cos I can’t concentrate…

Or I can just take a deep breath and crack on
(which is why I’m still writing)…

I’ve chosen not to let it bug me…

Besides… I don’t think the table in front
of me has the integrity to take a headbutt
right now…

Anyhoo…

Before I lose all train of thought I’ll try
to get to the point…

If you learn to handle stress better then you
become more productive…

You learn to channel your energy into getting
things done rather than doing nowt and
blaming other people…

Which gives you more time to work on
yourself…
